The photograph of Krystyna Sigalin on a tree
ca 1943
Museum of the history of Polish Jews
Part of the collection: Krystyna Sigalin (Pajes) heirlooms
The photograph of Feliksa Szulc, probably holding Witold Górkiewicz, whom she was taking care of during her stay in Warsaw and hiding Krystyna Sigalin. On the reverse, signed years later by Krystyna Sigalin Pajes (written in pencil, partly in verso): "Oja, with Witold Górkiewicz (?) at Nabielaka Street (?) | If this is Nabielaka Street, then it was the year 1943 or the summer of 1944 (?) | Oja = Feliksa Szulc". Oja - that is how little Krystyna, when she started talking, called her sitter, and that is how she called her later on, followed by everyone in the Sigalin family.
