The Polish Brothers… - b&w version

Popularization note

The nine-frame plane with outlines of characters and lettering for dialogue and narration.

The first 8 frames of the plane for Ziom, depicting a televised speech by a politician, contain a series of rhetorical questions and diagnoses supporting the appeal for waking up the audience. They are crowned with a suggestion: I ask, who is this supposed to serve? And the answer to this question raises another one, namely... | ...in what Middle Eastern language do the principals of the so-called authors and Jeż Jerzy speak?. In the next frame, which closes the whole of the lower part of the screen, we can see Jeż Jerzy in a yarmulke and a baldric; he is sitting in front of the receiver, by a seven-branched menorah (incidentally, no such candlestick should be in the home of a truly religious Jew, as it is strictly forbidden to reproduce equipment from the Temple of Jerusalem).

In the smoky dialogue, Jerzy expresses his fear that the authors of the comic will be very upset by such an unmasking. The narrative commentary at the bottom of the page informs us, however, that they received a reassuring message from headquarters, which assured them that it was a controlled leak and that they could freely go on with their work of destroying the Polish statehood [...].
