Parachute

Presentation of King Maciuś over Warsaw and Janusz Korczak. It is a composition of glued-on elements - just like all the works from the project (which is also typical of the works of Iwona Chmielewska), in this case especially multi-layered. The drawings are glued to the map and to the card that was previously the cover (especially the spine lines are visible), which are in turn glued to the largest card (this way the margin was created). In the center of the card - a depiction of Matt who flies sitting on a swing, hanging from an inverted golden crown. In this work, the crown becomes - through characteristic links (painted with watercolors) - a parachute. To the left of the figure, there are two white clouds. Below, a rectangular fragment of a map of Mazovia with a diagram of roads and city icons, and with inscriptions of their names - including the inscription: WARSAW

At the exhibition, in the place where the drawing was used as a scenery project - children could swing on a real swing, it was one of their favorite sightseeing points. Moreover, the swing motif is a reference to one of the boards of Pamiętnik Blumki [Blumka's Diary] by Iwona Chmielewska, entitled Ważniejsze od kar są nagrody... [The Awards Are More iImportant Than Penalties ...], where the Doctor is visible from behind on a swing on a blue rope. | Also the silhouette of Janusz Korczak on this - on the left at the bottom - contributes to the reference to the representations of the characters in the project of Blumka's Diary (by the blue tone, see https://polin.pl/pl/aktualnosci/2011/09/01/pamietnik- blowers).
