Description:
The bathroom located on the second floor of the northern wing of the castle is adjacent to the Silver Bedroom (Room 65) and has the shape of a rectangle with a cut south-west corner. The bathroom can be entered from the northern corridor through a small hall with a single-leaf polychrome door with a glazed upper part. In the north-eastern corner of the bathroom there is a masonry stove with tiles decorated with geometric and floral motifs. By the southern wall there stands a three-wing wardrobe with a mirror in the middle of the front wall, with a triangular gable. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub, washing basin and toilet seat made by the London-Viennese company Gramlick which worked for the Potocki family during the great reconstruction of the castle at the turn of the 19th century. The bathroom equipment is enclosed with ash paneling. On the walls there is a contemporary fabric with floral decorations, inspired by the archival photos of an earlier, unpreserved fabric from the turn of the 19th century. In the mid-nineteenth century, when there were separated five apartments on the second floor, the bathroom belonged to the so-called Middle Suite, consisting of three rooms, two wardrobes and one vestibule. Unfortunately, it is not known what the function of this room was at that time. Most likely, it was the back-up facility for the adjacent Silver Bedroom (Room 65). The bathroom owes its present appearance to the great reconstruction during the time when the owners of the castle were Elżbieta and Roman Potocki; the equipment comes from the collection of the Castle Museum in Łańcut.
