The apron for the women's festive costume, the so-called Krzczonów outfit, was made of woollen fabric. It was made in the inter-war period, i.e., at the last stage of functioning of this type of clothing; the maker is not known. It was sewn by machine; in the upper part, it is arranged in small pleats sewn into a strip of linen fabric, which has longer straps left to tie it at the back. The apron is 212 cm wide so that it overlapped the hips and 66.5 cm long so that it reaches below the knees. It is decorated in the middle with striped narrow black ribbons – two in each; in the middle, it is sewn white cotton lace with motifs of large flowers, and below are two more black ribbons. The lower edge is similarly trimmed with two black ribbons and finished with a white cotton lace 5 cm wide and a floral pattern. This type of apron was different from the earlier one and was worn with the Krzczonów costume between 1870 and 1918; it is slightly longer and does not cover the whole figure but is also more toned down in colour. The previous one was distinguished by vivid colours and had a dozen colourful striped ribbons. However, this one is relatively short compared to other aprons used in our country for festive costumes. Thus, it did not fulfil its primary function, that is, shielding the skirt from dirt. In the Krzeczów garment, it began to play only a decorative role.
