Description:
The elongated rectangular room is located on the second floor of the castle, in the northern wing. According to the information in the registry from 1862, this room was part of the Younger Couple’s Suite and probably served as the office or dressing room of Alfred II Potocki or was occupied by the count’s servant. The room has one double-leaf window in the northern wall. The entire northern wall, including the window recess, is covered with painted paneling. The remaining walls in the room are yellow, with a strip of geometric decorations in the upper part, painted with dark red and green squares, circles and rhombuses on a light cream background. On the floor there is pine wood parquet. The room can be entered from a corridor which connects the room with the adjoining rooms, i.e. the Rococo Salon and Fałat’s Room. There is also a separate door leading to the Rococo Salon. On the ceiling of the room there is a Neo-Rococo stucco rosette. Probably during the last reconstruction, when the castle belonged to Roman and Elżbieta Potocki in the years 1889-1912, the interior of this room was changed and there was discovered the painting in the upper part of the walls. It is very likely that in the earlier years this room and the neighboring room (Room 58, Fałat’s Room) constituted one room. In recent years, this room, along with other rooms on the second floor, has undergone extensive restoration. The interior was decorated after the Second World War by the employees of the Museum.
